Tenants Ruin Flat - and Win Compensation!

September 21st, 2009

Recent news of a Landlord (who is to remain anonymous) has emerged about tenants who ruined a flat, but won the court case against their landlord to win compensation!

The property was left with 3 months unpaid rent, class A drugs left lying around, cracks in walls, burns in furniture. The landlord was awarded 4,313 for damages, rent and compensation. however, the landlords joy was short lived as the tenants counterclaimed against the landlord for not having the deposit correctly placed in DPS accounts. They won back the 4,313 with an extra 94.82 on top!

It was when the landlord realised she had not logged the deposit correctly, she did so retrospectively, however it was too little too late.

NEWS NEWS NEWS!!

Strange things do happened, does that go as well for Africa? am, not in particular, i will rather say for Sierra Leone nothing surprises me.

two weeks ago a very young girl was sent to the gas station to buy a gallon of kerosene, on her way going the young girl mistakenly lost the money which was about Le.14,000(fourteen thousand leones) Having lost the money the girl decided to ran away, she went to one of her relatives were she explained all what has happened to her . The aunt decided to take her back to her grandmother, guardian of the young girl. The aunt then explained everything the girl has told her to the grandmother, the grandmother was so annoyed together with her son (not the girl father’s) an uncle to the young girl.

The uncle then got hold of the girl and gave her a merciless beaten to the point that the girl happened to fall down and died. The most astonishing thing now something that i have never heard of in all my years, is that the relatives have the guts to go and asked the police that they want the matter to settle out of court, this is so disgusting. The  Police  told them that they will have to wait till the murder case comes up in court, then they will have to tell the court. They the Police said that it is a state case they do not have any hands in it , any way the Police are still investigating the murder case.

It Rain, Rain, and Rain.

August 7th, 2009

Waw!! before people think that we are not going to have rain this time around in Sierra Leone. It get to a point were some religious people started praying for the all blessed rain. The rain supposed to start by May latest June, but it was not like that this year we finally got the rain by the end of July.

Though the rain started late this year, it was like a blessing in disguise , we are now having the rain every day not only the rain the place is always cold and foggy am sure our reservoir must be up to the bring now. One beautiful thing i notice is this all over the city it all greens, fresh flowers, fresh vegetables etc, etc. My next observation about the rainy season is that it is not favorable for the very old people, very funny,  you know it is something that they dint like, the too much of rain the very  cold weather makes them to get sick and the next thing they are dead it sounds sad . One very interesting thing now is that people are now saying that if at least we can have sun shine at most twice in the week that will be fine.

A Kind of Spiritual Lectures.

July 21st, 2009

Yesterday was a day i experienced something new in my life. We have three people that came to lecture to us about spiritual life, meaning how to go about life or look at life in a kind of a spiritual form. They are two Tanzanian ladies and one man he is a French man but he has being living in India for quite some time now, The two ladies looks like Indians, but they said that they are Africans from Tanzania and they  both looks so beautiful. The French guy was the one doing the lectures. He spokes so much about life in general how to look at life, dealing with life in general, trying to be yourself . One important statements that he made was that no matter the circumstances surrounding you, you must always try to be happy, he also said that what ever you are doing you must always have to be relaxed and be comfortable not just any thing, something that you may know that is good that is very important. He made mention about Einstein, he said that Einstein can find himself more relax when ever he is working on his math problems, he finds so much joy in that. He then said something of great importance, namely we must not forget this , always be at the right place, right time, with the right person, the right activity, and right consciousness. Another important thing that he said was that we must promised ourselves to always be the best, open up to the world, we can only control ourselves but not other people.

Hello Friends (Michael Jackson)

July 17th, 2009

I have been away from letzbiz for sometime now, but thanks though am back.

Hey guess what,  i met a man who told me that he knew Michael Jackson  since he was a baby, ” then i said to him what!! you don’t mean it ” i  then asked him, have you been to the U.S.A before? he said no, then i said so how come you knew this man? . As if that one is not enough he said to me again i even knew his entire family, i said to him this time you must be joking now my friend, by this time he was even laughing at me now , so i said what the laughter is all about , he answered me and said because i was going to tell you that i even knew his children three of them, and the girl even shed tears at his father’s (funeral) memorial service ” saying that, “his father has been the best father he has ever have”.Mmmmm! it was at this point that i came to realise what exactly this man, my friend was saying. He only came to know Michael Jackson so much at his death, and even loved him more, i said why? he said to me, because he was a very good father, those kids are going to Miss there father a lot. I said you are quite right as a father as myself i know what it means my friend. Like my friend said so too do i, i love Michael Jackson so much if not for anything but the simple reason or fact, for being a good father. Michael Jackson(MJ) you will  always be remembered .

Sunrise, Surprise!

July 17th, 2009

Well, that heat wave (or England’s summer) 2 weeks ago was impressive. Relentless, Hot, Breezeless and Too short. After wasting a day or 2 daydreaming about being able to relax in a paddling pool I finally managed to sort one out.

Living the dream, I was slouched in the paddling pool with an ice cold beer in my hand!

However, as the heat wave finished, I found it hard to give up the paddling pool. I sat in it in the evenings determined to get every last drop of fun. After about a week, as I sat there shivering and the rain fell in the slightly greening water, I was hit by the harsh reality that it was over.

So now I’m waiting on that next sweet heatwave!

SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE.

May 27th, 2009

Hey!! guess what, just this morning i heard from one of the local FM radio station’s in Freetown, that the minister responsible for lands has sent fourteen(14) of his senior workers on-leave due to corrupt Mal practices in that ministry. This is indeed  a very great move taken by the newly  appointed minister. This ministry has been a corrupted one for over decades now, am sure this man must be a clean man, keep it up Mr. minister we need good guys like you.

Mystery Mystery mystery!!

April 21st, 2009

Something wonderful just happened about two days ago. A baby was found in  the Provincial town of Kabala district, in the bush am sure the baby must have been abandon there by the mother. According to an eye-witness the baby was talking just as any matured person, the baby is without any hands and feet, and the most surprising thing is that when the baby open his mouth saying that he wanted to see the President, demanding that he most speak with the President  there is something that he needs to know about. What a mystery .
